Aims and Objectives

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Organisation.

  1. The organisation will be known as, ‘Plantagenet Descendants Society of the United Kingdom’, hereafter referred to as ‘the Society’.

  2. ‘Plantagenet’ means for the purpose of the Society, the surname used by the Angevin House, which succeeded to the throne of England in A.D. 1154 in the person of Henry II, and remained the Royal House of England until the death of Richard III in A.D. 1485.

 

Aims & Objectives

   3. The aims and objectives of the Society are;

  • To perpetuate the memory of the Kings of England of the House of Plantagenet between 1154 and 1485

  • To provide for the preservation of family descents from the Plantagenet Kings of England.

  • To promote good fellowship between descendants of the Plantagenet Kings of England.

  • To be a source of information and news concerning anniversaries of historical interest involving members of the House of Plantagenet.

 

Membership

   4. Eligibility for membership of the Society is based upon lineal descent (Pedigree) from one of the Plantagenet Kings of England.

   5. Membership will consist of three levels, Honorary, Full and Associate.

  • Honorary membership will be awarded to members of the Royal family wishing to join the Society, and will not be required to submit any documentation to prove lineal descent.

  • Full membership will be awarded to those who can provide the Society a proven and legitimate pedigree from one of the Plantagenet Kings of England.

  • Associate membership will be awarded to those who provide pedigree information that cannot be proven absolutely, but in the balance of probability are likely to indicate a pedigree from one of the Plantagenet Kings of England.

 

   6. Those wishing to become, Full or Associate members, should provide all documentation as required by the Society to prove

        their claim of lineal descent.

 

   7. Honorary membership will be awarded by the Society as set out in section 5a, Full or Associate membership of the Society will

       only be awarded once the Society are content that all documentation has been provided and are content that the criteria for

       Full or Associate membership has been met, as set out at section 5 b and c.

 

Personal Records & Contact

   8. In the interests of personal security of information, the Society does not request personal information, such as address or                     contact  telephone numbers. The only Records that are maintained by the Society are your name, membership number and                 a contact email address.

   10. The Society maintains a Facebook page, where information is regularly provided of interest of members and those interested             in  seeking membership. The Facebook page can be found at Plantagenet Descendants Society –UK.
